The Big Queensferry Crossing Opening
It’s Friday Folks!!! Hope you have all had a good week.
It been a while since we done a big blog and I'm sad to say that this will be my last one. The lovely Sharon will be taking control and I'm sure she will do an awesome job at bringing you all the latest news at SPD.
This week’s blog is about the Official Opening of the new QUEENSFERRY CROSSING Bridge.
The construction began in 2011 with more than 10,000 people working on the Bridge at some point in the building process. It is estimated that 24 million vehicles will pass over the Bridge on a yearly basis, which should reduce the strain on the older Bridges.
With 6 years in the making the opening event was bound to be a well-anticipated event. The Queen attended and cut the ribbon exactly 53 years after she opened the Forth Road Bridge. A live concert was held at the event; a pipe band played and the famous Red Arrows flew over the new bridge with boats travelling underneath.
All in all a spectacular opening event and SPD have been privileged enough to provide the official printed branding for the day. The prints included Stage Branding, Bollard Graphics and Hanging Signs. and once printed our fitter applied all the graphics at the event site ready for the grand opening to take place.
SPD have been happy to work along side Amy at Unique Events LTD and are glad to have received some positive feedback and images to share with you all. We hope to work with them again in the future.
“Thank you so much for coming on board as a supplier on what proved to be quite a tricky wee (or big!) Project! I think the artwork came out really nicely and we (Amy and myself) appreciated your quick turnarounds and positive attitude!”
